Another snowy morning in Boston, plus another back to back shift means another night at the Fairmont!
It’s been a busy past two days with finally getting back to work after being sick and then having to work 2pm to 10pm and then back at 7am this morning. But the hotel was wonderful enough again to let me stay so that I would make it in. I am soooo done with this snow. I hate being cooped up either here or at work. This stuff needs to start melting ASAP. I have races to train for.
So, Thursday morning I was finally feeling better enough to take a shower and actually put on some real clothes. I had been living in PJ’s since Monday. For breakfast, I had one of my delicious muffins along with a side of banana, Greek yogurt, honey and granola.
On my way to work, I picked up a medium toasted almond coffee with skim milk and splenda from Dunks.
Work was work…
Today was a fun day though! After my shift, my sister in law Grace met me at the hotel and we headed to the Doubletree in Cambridge to help her brother and his fiancée who are getting married there tomorrow!
Beautiful view outside their room.
The big thing today was the rehearsal. I’m the celebrant so I’m front and center during the ceremony. I’m actually thankful that my entrance, along with Richard’s, won’t have the same fanfare as the rest of the party. So we’ll just chill up front until the ceremony is about to start. I’m really excited to read the ceremony that they wrote!
After the rehearsal, the hotel van brought us to the Hard Rock Café for the rehearsal dinner!
For appetizers, the table got sample platters. It was a whole lot of fried goodies. There were onion rings, potato skins, chicken tenders, chicken wings and spring rolls. I had a spring roll and a half, a chicken tender and a potato skin.
For a drink I had the pomegranate martini. It wasn’t too alcohol-ey (which was nice) but the stem was really sticky from the sugar. I still downed it though.
For dinner I decided on the 8oz sirloin steak since I hadn’t had steak in a while. I had it cooked medium rare and instead of the mashed ‘tatoes, I got a side salad.
Along with dinner, I had a Bud Light Lime.
My steak was good. They cooked it well enough and it was quite tasty. I enjoyed the broccoli as well. I ended up taking half home. We’ll see when I can get around to eating it.
Before the evening was over, the bride and groom gave out thank you presents to everyone. Heather each bought us the shoes that we’ll be wearing tomorrow as well as a piece of black jewelry. We all got necklaces and I can’t wait to wear mine!
Well, I am off to bed. Busy busy day tomorrow! I’m passing off my camera to my parents so hopefully I’ll have some nice ceremony shots to post on Sunday. Night!
What’s the best wedding you’ve ever attended?
