Well, it’s snowing again! Every week this month we have had significant accumulation of the pretty white stuff. Well, it’s not so pretty anymore. I had to drive in it today and thankfully my little Camry can take it. But it was a tough 2 hours. And tonight I’m not braving it back home; I’m staying at my sister in law’s apartment so that I can make my commute back in tomorrow. It’s a one-two punch with this storm!
Yesterday was a good day though. I woke up with every intention of working out…and I did! Since my last P90X left me nauseous, I had a bite before I tackled the Arms and Shoulders workout. I had a Van’s waffle topped with homemade peanut butter and banana and a side of coffee with Sugar in the Raw.
This time I opted to not watch the DVD and just follow the instructions in the book. Sometimes I don’t like doing the workout if I have to watch Tony for an hour. So instead, I worked my upper body while watching The New Adventures of Old Christine and How I Met Your Mother. Love it.
Afterwards, for lunch, I whipped up something new and different. I decided to make a pita sandwich with the spiced hummus I made for the weekend. And I wanted some protein but wasn’t in the mood for chicken. My next favorite source of protein? Eggs! I lined the pita with hummus, then laid out slices of an empire apple, drizzled that with honey and put in scrambled eggs that I mixed with mozzarella cheese. It was savory and sweet. I had it with a side of yogurt with honey and almonds.
Definitely got me through the afternoon.
This morning David and I woke up to this outside.
It just keeps piling and piling up! All of this snow is definitely making Vegas look better and better. But with our luck it’ll probably snow Sunday morning. Positive vibes though!
I wanted something warm and hearty for breakfast so of course, a big bowl of oatmeal it was.
I topped it with Kashi Heart to Heart, almonds, raisins, figs and homemade peanut butter. It warms me up and fills me up too.
The commute in was about 2 hours but luckily I made it in safe and sound and only saw one fender bender on the highway.
Right now work is pretty slow; I’ve only had a few restaurant reservation requests and one gentleman who needed to borrow a sports coat. But there’s still 3 hours left in the shift so we’ll see how it goes. These perked me up though: brownies from the Capital Grille! (photographed from my phone)
Then it’s slumber party in Somerville!
I heard that this storm was/is over 2,000 miles long! If you’re in that belt, I hope you’re staying safe and warm!
Are you loving this snow or are you ready for tomorrow to be June?
