It’s Saturday night, the hotel is fairly quiet and I am getting my mind set to Vegas time! In about 12 hours David and I will be boarded and ready to fly out. Even though it won’t be the warmest (mid 50s to mid 60s) it’s certainly better than what we’ve had here! We’re looking forward to wearing t-shirts and drink yard-long mudslides.
Yesterday morning David came home from work and told me that he wanted to take me out to lunch, drive me in to work and to wake him up at quarter of 12. Aww…I was very happy to take him up on that because any chance I get to not have to drive into work, I’ll take it.
For breakfast, I had a comforting bowl of oatmeal. In the mix was honey, raisins, a banana, Bob’s Red Mill granola and homemade peanut butter.
I always laugh at that bear; it’s as if he’s saying “Oh no, Mr. Bean!”
I think this is my favorite mix of oatmeal toppings.
After a morning of lounging around, David took us out to Newton for lunch at the Blue Ribbon BBQ. I knew it had to be a special lunch if he was willing to drive into the city for it. And BBQ is definitely special since we don’t have it very often.
I ordered the BBQ pulled chicken sandwich with a side of baked beans and green beans. To me, BBQ is not complete without baked beans (I am from Mass!) or corn bread. David’s meal came with cornbread. I stole half.
I topped it with sweet BBQ sauce. The sandwich didn’t have any sauce on it. Very disappointed. And the sides really didn’t have any flavor to them. The beans were ok but nothing to write home about. But David enjoyed his ribs and brisket. He loves his meat.
Hmm…beef…uggghh (sounds like Homer Simpson)
I think I had enough for the day.
Work was uneventful yet again. I ordered some flowers for a gentleman who would be proposing to his girlfriend this evening and arranged a large amenity for a guest coming in a week from today.
This morning I got up and was ready for a workout! I checked the OnDemand and settled for Jackie Warner’s 1-on-1 upper body and cardio workout. It was about 25 minutes of continuous arm and shoulder exercises mixed with cardio to keep my heart rate up. It was great! I worked up a sweat and an appetite. Unfortunately, I did not photograph my breakfast or snack. I was just too hungry I didn’t realize until after it was gone!
Before the workout I had a Kashi peanut butter granola bar and a cup of coffee with milk, Sugar in the Raw and vanilla syrup. For breakfast I had a bowl of Cascadian Farms Honey O’s with milk, plain yogurt, almonds and a banana.
The morning was spent packing for the trip, packing up items that we didn’t need anymore in the apartment and cleaning up so the landlord could show the place. I worked up an appetite for lunch rather quickly. We didn’t have too much around since we’re leaving, so I whipped up a salad and sandwich.
The salad was green lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, spiced hummus, honey, and pistachios. Little bit of sweet, little bit of crunch. It was refreshing. For a sandwich, a good ol’ PB&J.
Work is going well right now, but slow. We have one event in the ballroom and only 4 check-in’s left. Is it 10:30 yet???
Oh, and today, I got my ticket to see New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys!!! Call me a teeny bopper; I don’t care. I’ve seen BSB every time they have come to either Boston or Providence since ’98 and I don’t plan on breaking the streak now. I even saw Nick Carter’s solo show at the Avalon. I’m devoted, till the end.
For the next week I’ll be taking a hiatus from posting and just enjoying the strip, sun and drinks with David. I hope everyone has a great week and I’ll catch up with you on Friday!
Go Super Bowl!! Who are you rooting for?
