You know, stuff I bought. ![]()
Two of my favorite things: cookbooks and running stuff.
I really needed a visor for running. I was always sweating into my eyes and I don’t like running with sunglasses. I wore it on my run this morning and it worked great! Dry eyes and no squinting. And what’s that right there? Yep! I got Body Glide! I used that too and I’m happy to report, no chafing. ![]()
I jumped on the bandwagon. And I cannot WAIT to try her recipes.
I’m a big GU fan but wanted to know what the Clif Bloks were all about. I like anything gummy!
This was a gift from my sister in law! She saw it at the Harvard Square farmer’s market and thought of me. I love the name. And the combination is killer! So delicious. Great addition for my morning yogurt.
Russell House Tavern
And on Friday night I acquired a new friend in Boston: Bianca! We had made plans to meet up in Harvard Square and I’ve always been a fan of RHT. I’ve been there for lunch but never for drinks and dinner. When I got there, I ordered a Peaks Organic Nut Brown Ale. It was so smooth yet flavorful.
The lighting was pretty dark in the restaurant.
For a starter, I had the Local leaf salad with walnuts, dried figs and a mustard-cider vinaigrette. It was pretty much a perfect salad. The dressing was light yet covered every piece of lettuce.
For an entrée I had the Andria tavern pizza: very local burrata, black mission fig, and sweet garlic. Quite the fig theme for this dinner! I love figs.
This pizza was amazing. I love thin crust and the edges were slightly burnt and oh so crisp. The cheese was just enough and the figs were perfectly sweet. I had half for dinner and the rest for lunch today. It was delicious and crispy even when reheated.
The service was slightly less attentive but we sat at the bar and it was a busy night. The whole staff was very pleasant though. A great place for bar food and a beer or cocktail!
Russell House Tavern is located at 14 JFK Street in Harvard Square, Cambridge.

Welcome to my little corner of the internet! I enjoy running, baking, dining out and spending time with my husband, whether it's decorating our new house or enjoying New England! Feel free to contact me at

Good idea getting a visor. I hate wearing sunglasses when I’m working out. Your dinner looks fantastic!
Bianca + RHT = perfect Friday evening! I’m glad you met one of my favorite food blogger pals!
I need to get a visor, I forgot about this rather helpful article of clothing!!
Dinner obviously looks tasty, nice choices Alaina
It was sooooo nice meeting you! And thank you for letting me try your pizza – I think I am now a fig-on-savory-things convert!
OMG that pizza looks good
I’m so glad you tried Best Damn Granola! I manage that farmers’ market and I get that granola quite often. Monkey farts is fantastic. If you like ginger, she makes a great ginger variety.
i love running with hats…it makes such a difference keeping sweat and hair out of your face.
i need to pick up a copy of mama pea’s book!
