This afternoon, I got together with the in-law family to celebrate Grace’s birthday!
But first, I had to get my long run in for the week. I thought about holding it off until the evening, but I’m so glad I went in the morning. As I’m writing this, it’s pretty muggy and hot out. I ran 6 miles in 59 minutes. A slow run but it was pretty muggy out then too. Fall cannot come soon enough!
For brunch we went to Cambridge Common near Porter Square. We had a reservation and had no problem getting in.
To start, we had some water on the table and I ordered a mimosa. It was so good. Just the right balance of champagne and OJ. My mother in law made us some trail mix baggies too.
They definitely came in handy later on in the day.
For an entrée, I went the breakfast route. If I could, I would eat breakfast for all three meals. It can be both sweet and savory. I had the common omelet which comes with tomato, bacon and cheese with a side of fruit, home fries and toast. I switched out the tomato for onions.
Everything was delicious! I would have liked some different fruit but it was fresh and tasty. The whole table was enjoying their meal.
The whole brunch was delicious and I can see why it’s one of Grace’s favorites. They have so many beers on tap; I know I’m going to have to make it there for lunch or dinner sometime to sample them all. ![]()
After brunch we headed across the street to Berry Line for some frozen yogurt. The three flavors they had available were plain, blueberry basil and peppermint Oreo; I had the plain with pineapples, coconut and almonds. So good! The frozen yogurt was so good.
I had no problem scarfing it down. Apparently, neither did the rest of us.
I love getting together with my in-law family. I am extremely grateful to have been married into such a wonderful family. I don’t think I could ever say enough nice things about them. ![]()
After we all said our goodbyes, I went to the mall with Sara and Grace to look for some dresses. I was possibly looking for a dress for my friend’s wedding in October but had some backups at home in case nothing stood out. But one dress did stand out. This gorgeous, cobalt blue dress from Lord and Taylor. It fit like a glove and was so comfortable. The only problem? It was $168. I walked around the mall for a bit before realizing that it was just too much money to spend on an outfit for one event. (I’m sure other weddings/events-in-which-I-will-need-a-dress will come up, but there are none in my immediate future). I am going to be on the lookout if it goes on sale though because it’s gorgeous! I’ll try and post a pic if I end up going back for it. I did end up getting a few tops at Eddie Bauer though. And my fuel for shopping? The trail mix.
How is everyone enjoying their Labor Day weekend? Tomorrow is back to work for me. The last few days have been a lot less stressful and despite how crazy, busy work was last night, I really enjoyed myself. I’m still not looking forward to waking up at 4AM this week, but I don’t have a whole lot on my plate like last week. We’ll see how it goes.
Have a great one!!
Have you ever had that must-have outfit or dress? Seriously, this dress was beautiful.
