Hello everyone!
This past week was SO busy! Thankfully my cold is gone and I’m feeling 100% better. I guess I’ll fill you in on a day by day recap.
Monday
After my 7-3 shift, I headed over to Legal Harborside for an event with Where Magazine and the Steamship Authority. It was a cocktail reception with cheese, crackers, shrimp, oysters and sushi. They also had beers and specialty drinks to order. I had the melon splash. It wasn’t my favorite, but it was refreshing.
After a few hours, me and a few concierge headed over to the Intercontinental Hotel’s bar Rumba for some drinks and food. I had a ginger beer concoction and some nachos to share. When I used to work at that hotel, I wasn’t able to drink at their bar. One good thing about not working there anymore. ![]()
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Tuesday I was actually around the apartment all morning until work at 2pm. Wednesday was a house day, even though the weather was less than ideal. David and I rented a truck so that we could transfer some cement blocks (switching regular two-hole with bond beam blocks). Fun! It was a great upper body workout though.
You can see the pictures on Our Handmade House.
Thursday was a lot of fun because David and I went to FW Webb to find all of the components for our bathroom! Some details:
- No tub, just a 60×42” shower basin with glass shower doors
- Floating vanity
- Rectangular, integrated single sink
So fun. ![]()
Friday
Alllll day, David and I were at the house. For lunch, we decided to check out the airport diner in town and we were pleasantly surprised! I had the turkey bacon melt with chips and it was delicious. The turkey was aplenty.
Today
Today was my father in law’s birthday so we had a birthday party along with working on the house.
Afterwards, I headed over to my parents house to celebrate Mother’s Day. We went to an early dinner at Prezo’s, where I had a rapscallion beer and the beet salad with shrimp. Both were very refreshing.
In addition to my father in law’s birthday, it’s also my parent’s cat’s birthday! Happy Birthday Pishou! Doesn’t she look thrilled?
And it’s hug your cat day too.
He’s so cuddly.
Well, today is my Sunday so it’s off to get ready for my work week! Another busy one in the books.
Do you celebrate your pet’s birthday? My parents actually sang to Pishou this morning. Charlie’s birthday is in October. ![]()
What are you doing for Mother’s Day this year?
Welcome to my little corner of the internet! I enjoy running, baking, dining out and spending time with my husband, whether it's decorating our new house or enjoying New England! Feel free to contact me at

I always celebrated my pet’s birthdays. They’re part of the family, you can’t leave them out of birthdays!
Oh we always have a little party for Sammy each year. I’m sure that will all stop when we have kids but it’s fun for now.
Glad you’ve had a great weekend! Good luck on your workweek!
PS- Do you know what your work schedule is going to be that weekend of the race? We need to catch up soon.
Glad you’re feeling better!
And diner food is always the best
It sounds like you have been BUSY!
I celebrate my cats’ adoption days since I don’t know their birthdays.
