Well, as of yesterday, David and I are out of living near Boston. We are now in the ‘burbs. It looks like we’ll be here until at least the middle of July. His timeline has us moving into the house by the end of that month. Again, I’m crossing my fingers!
Yesterday’s moving went as smoothly as it could have gone. We packed our stuff in my parents truck and his dad’s van, drove to my parents house, then took all of our stuff to the hotel. We stayed for dinner and ordered some pizza from the town pizza restaurant. We enjoyed it with some Woodchuck hard cider.
I had a small Hawaiian and it was delicious! Thank goodness because David and I love getting pizza.
Afterwards, I got my butt down to the gym to partake in the RW Summer Running Streak by running a mile on the treadmill. Yeah, not the best idea right after pizza. I cramped up for a bit, but managed to get it done. Since starting the streak, I’ve missed a day of running. That day David and I spent literally all day at the house, and I was spent by the time I got home. But so far so good getting some mileage in!
Oh yeah, back to the hotel. It’s a really comfortable hotel that has free breakfast in the morning and evening snacks, free Wi-Fi, pool, 24 hour exercise room and laundry facilities.
We’re trying to make it feel like home. ![]()
In terms of the house, I haven’t gotten around to blogging on here so I definitely haven’t blogged at my other site. But here are some pics of the recent progress:
The first picture was the beginning of the day; the last picture was at dusk that night. We got up the last two outside walls! Since then, David has cut out the doors. We will be starting on the interior part of the framing (we’re doing a double wall system with extra insulation), hopefully, if the rain doesn’t get any worse.
So that’s where we are at right now! Work has been SO busy, which I love. It makes the shift go by so much faster.
How is work going for you? Is anyone participating in the Summer Running Streak? I’m also hoping that this streak will help get me prepared for the BAA 10k in a few weeks!
Welcome to my little corner of the internet! I enjoy running, baking, dining out and spending time with my husband, whether it's decorating our new house or enjoying New England! Feel free to contact me at

Living in a hotel for a few weeks sounds pretty nice! My shins are still bothering me so I’m not participating in the RW streak – I am so stubborn when it comes to completely resting/taking a break from running but I know I really have to!
We lived in a hotel for a month while our condo was being gutted, and I kind of loved it. I am excited to see your finished house!
Living in a hotel sounds pretty nice actually! Not something to do for too long, but a few weeks sound great! Minimal cleaning on your part, that is for sure
You guys are making some amazing progress on the house!!
Looks like a decent place!
If you hadn’t told me that was a hotel, I would have thought it was a home! I think you guys did a great job making it homey
