Happy Wednesday evening everyone! How was your weekend and how is your week going? Last week was super busy at work; I had a relaxing weekend with David, and this week has been shaping up to be busy as well.
Some highlights from the past week or so:
Lunch at Legal C Bar at Legacy Place in Dedham
David had received a New Balance gift card from my parents for his birthday last month and this weekend he finally decided to cash it in. I found the store at Legacy Place and since we hadn’t been, thought it might be nice for a Saturday afternoon. Of course, everyone else though the same thing and it was really busy. But we got lucky finding a parking spot not too far from the store.
After a successful trip to NB, David really wanted some clam chowder after noticing the Legal C Bar. So we decided on that for lunch. It wasn’t too busy and we were able to find a seat at the bar.
David ordered his chowder and some fish and chips. I ordered the big green salad (with a roasted shallot vinaigrette and cinnamon toasted chick peas) with shrimp.
David said he enjoyed his chowder but the fish and chips were a bit lacking in the fish department. And of course we partook in some fries since this past Saturday was National French Fry Day! Man, they have a day for everything! I really liked my salad. The salad was fresh and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. Overall, a very enjoyable lunch out.
Legal C Bar is located at Legacy Place, Dedham, MA.
Our Latest House Project
A new mattress and bed! Our old mattress was about as old as our relationship (7 years) so we were definitely in the market for a new one. We went to Jordan’s Furniture and ordered a Simmons Beautyrest with the memory foam on the top and springs on the bottom. SO comfortable! And David built a bed frame for it. He fastened it to the wall and placed the posts underneath to make it look like it’s floating.
It’s magic! And comfortable.
Some Culinary & Drink Finds
One thing that I love about working in downtown Boston is the option of getting lunch at one of the many food trucks. Last week I happened upon Benny’s Crepe Café food truck and I am not one to turn down a crepe.
This one had bacon, apple, arugula, caramelized onions and honey mustard. Oh my gosh. It was delicious. I would definitely get it again.
Now, I know that this is probably going to be a “duh!” statement but I don’t think I will ever buy lettuce, carrots or cucumbers from the grocery store again. For the past two weeks I have been buying those items at the Copley Square farmer’s market and the quality is so much better! It actually lasts longer in my fridge and it just overall tastes so much better.
I am a believer!
I have also discovered a delicious new cabernet sauvignon. It’s an easy red wine to drink and I can see it become a regular in my rotation of wines.
Well, I think that’s all for the excitement going on in my life! I really wish I could find the time to blog more but I just don’t have the free time that I used to. I’m still (somewhat) jogging and (somewhat) concierge…ing so you’ll see me pop in from time to time.
I’m active on Instagram (@Laina384) and so-so on Twitter (@jogconcierge) if you want to follow me there!
How has your summer been? It’s been hot, muggy and busy, but at least the house is cool and this heat wave won’t last forever! (Fingers crossed of course )
