One race down, only twenty-nine more to go! And I really hope that this one was my coldest. Brr!
The race started at 11 so at least it had warmed up a bit…to about 20ish degrees. But it was sunny with minimal wind so it was bearable. And last night I ended up sleeping for about, oh, 11 hours. So I certainly wasn’t tired!
I also ended up running alone, as my parents decided not to do the race because of the cold weather. They were my cheering squad though! And they were able to take my first picture with many more to come!
The race was an out and back and the street was the same one that the Whitin Five Miler ends on, so I knew what to expect. It was flat and easy. Of course the out and back’s do get a bit boring. But my music kept me chugging along. I didn’t stop but I felt like I was dragging on the last mile. And my lungs were none to happy with the cold weather. But I made it with a decent time! And happy to have ran this morning.
How was your New Year’s Eve? Anyone else run this morning?
