Wedding

David and I were married at the Harrington Farm in Princeton, Massachusetts on October 26, 2008 (long before I began blogging!). It was also my mom’s birthday! But she didn’t mind sharing the day. ;-)

The weather was gorgeous for late October; sunny and 70s.

I have a love affair with Shutterfly, so here are some collage photos that I had made into a book.

And my maiden name was Bliss.

I love the picture on the left. Our photographer Kate did a great job capturing moments like that.

Me and my parents. Can you tell who I look like?

My MOH and bridesmaids! Aimee – my cousin, Heather – one of my first friends I made at college, Eli – my first roommate in college

David and his family. So lucky to be married into a wonderful family! Growing up as an only child, I excited to now have 3 sisters in law and 2 brothers in law.

Our mother’s walked in to “You Raise Me Up” by Josh Groban, the bridesmaids to “Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring” by Jim Brickman and I walked in to “When You Say You Love Me” by Josh Groban.

David’s good friend Rob was the officiant.

Love how happy we are in that picture! We walked out to “I Feel Good” by James Brown.

I did the “Pozzy hop” before we kissed.

Loved the fall colors! Heather, Eli, Aimee, Me, David, Richard, Sara, Kurt and Grace

It had rained the night before so it was a little bit soggy, but not too bad. Just look at those views!

Our party walked in to “Eye of the Tiger”, and David and I to “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy”. It’s our song. :-P

First dance was to a song that I had loved ever since I was little (the album came out the year I was born): “You’re the Inspiration” by Chicago. I had always wanted that to be my first dance song and David was happy to ablige. Pretty much he had control of the food and the food was PHENOMENAL! The best food I’ve had at a wedding.

Passed hors d’ouevres were mini burgers, steak and peppers quesadilla’s, brie puff pastry and coconut chicken. And there was a crudite table. For stations there was salad, pasta, turkey, roast, rice, veggies, so much! And our wedding cake was apricot spice and chocolate mousse with fresh raspberries.

Some wedding details. Our color scheme was green and brown with touches of blue. My grandmama’s prayer book was on the ceremony table (she passed away in 2005) and at the end of the reception an old 1920s car took us to the hotel.

Guest’s loved clinking the glasses! ;-)

My dad and I danced to “Butterfly Kisses” and thankfully, by 2008, it wasn’t the most popular father/daughter dance.

David and his mom dance to “What a Wonderful World.”

There was a lot of dancing considering it was a Sunday afternoon wedding.

David and I had practiced a cha-cha to the song “Into the Night” by Santana and Chad Kroeger. If you haven’t heard this song, I highly recommend it. It’s a toe tapper. ;-)

One of the requests I had was to get a picture with the sunset, since the sun set during our reception. I think the pictures came out great!

We had an amazing time at our wedding and was so happy to see so many friends and family together. Afterwards, we enjoyed 10 days in the Napa Valley region, exploring San Francisco, Lake Tahoe and even Reno, Nevada!

Our first anniversary, we stayed in Boston. Our second anniversary, we stayed in Atlantic City. For our third anniversary, hopefully David will be back for his R&R and we can go to DC. :-)
